Eric's Adventures in Starbucks- August 31, 2009

Alright, I'm sure you're going to have at least 3 posts to read today about the first day of school, so I promise I'll make mine interesting. Not that everyone else's aren't interesting.

Well, I got lucky this year. My sister can drive me to school :] NO BUS. You don't know how happy I am.

Surprisingly, I had little to no trouble finding my classes, although I ALMOST was late to Geometry, via Chris. But all in all, I was ok. I totally blew it out of proportion.

My classes are pretty decent. I have friends in most of them [except in a couple we sit alphabetically. BOO] In gym, I have nobody out of the 10 people. Yea, only 10 people.

Mr. Tomlin, our Honors World History teacher, was extremely strict. We sat alphabetically, no class introductions, nothing. Except a 100 question test about history and super fast talking. Oh, we have homework. All we have to do tho is answer one question, so I'm good.

Oh, and for Nick and Danielle, he's really not strict. Some teachers have this sick sense of humor in which they scare the freshmen in the first few days. I can't blame them, I would too.

I would know because 1. I've meet him before, 2. He has pictures of the Beatles in his room. Anyone who likes the Beatles can't be that bad, and 3. My sister even told me he does this. He's actually pretty cool, after the first week or so.

I love being knowledgeable :] And yes, that's the correct spelling. Doesn't look it, but it is.

They changed my advisory. I was originally going to be with Steve in Ms. Rodgers' room, but the room number was, as the office put it, non-existent. So, they moved me to Mrs. Lynghl [or however you spell it.] Turns out, I'm with Kevin, Kate, and Chelsea. YESH. Ohohoh, she's MRS. LEVINE'S DAUGHTER! I KNOW!

The BEST part of the day is that afterwards my sister, my sister's friend April, and I went to Starbucks. It was my first time. I ordered a Butter Croissant. It was big and AMAZING. So amazing, in fact, I got another one. And I tried a little of my sister's Apple Furm [I think that's what its name is.] It was alright.

Today is awesome because high school is so much better than I thought. And because when someone flushes in the washrooms in Starbucks, you can hear it miles away.

[Don't really think that's awesome, but still, it's something you may have not known. Oh, and did you like my canadian lingo?]

Eric's Introduction- August 23, 2009

Hi, I'm Eric. I'm thirteen years old (turning fourteen on September 7th.) I'm a freshman. It's hard for me to do these first-impression sort of things, because I'm used to just assuming everyone who reads my blog is close to me.

Well, I guess I should start with this project. Basically, we're going to offer you a different type of high school experience. Ours. Most of us go to the same school (with Laura as the exception.) There's more information in the sidebar. (I've always wanted to say that.)

I basically started this. It was originally just going to be a branch off of my main blog, Gomezziblog (link in the sidebar) about me talking about school. But before I knew it, it turned into a big collaboration of awesomeness. I invited Nick, Kasey, and Danielle into this, and decided I wanted a couple more people, so I invited Kevin and Laura. Danielle's cousin, Jessica, found about our project and thought it was good, so she wanted to be a part of it. The more the merrier. I've known Nick, Kevin, and Danielle since seventh grade, Kasey since last year, and I met Laura about two years ago through various interwebbing. I don't know Danielle's cousin very well, but I look forward to getting to know her in the future.

Now that you know the story, it's time you know some stuff about me. Let's see...

My favorite color is orange. I have a cat named Jojo. (See his picture in the sidebar.) I discovered the musical Rent by fluke about a half a year ago, and loved it since. Wicked is my second favorite Broadway show. I perform a one-man version of it in my room at 1 AM. Tickets available.

I have a YouTube crush on hayleyghoover. I have an obsession with twitter. I love cartoons from the 90's. I record every episode of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, and Saturday Night Live.

When I grow up, I want to be an author or grammarian. I have a tendency to correct my friend's spelling and grammar. I write sloppily. I love rain. I don't love being in it, just being near it. I don't know, it's sort of hard to explain. Hard to explain like how the sound of fans running relaxes me. Yea, I don't know.

I was raised Catholic, but I consider myself an Atheist. (I may explain this at greater length later.) My family doesn't have a lot of money to spend and I go without some luxuries and privileges that most kids my age have.

I shout answers out when I'm watching game shows. I love reality TV shows. I love shirts with food brands on them. I've been on High Honors for the majority of middle school. I call my cat offensive names like "manwhore" when he spreads his legs and spins around the bottom of my living room coffee table in stripper-like fashion.

Too much information? Sorry, but that's just me.

I think we should have some sort of common theme in all of our posts. All I can think of is something really original like saying why today is awesome. (That was sarcasm. I forgot to tell you I use obscure references a lot.)

But really, we'll do that. Today is awesome because it's the first post of 10MonthsofWork. Well, I'm certainly looking forward to everyone else's introductions and the rest of the blog. See you later.
